After cleaning off the accumulated dirt from 30 years I have identified numerous markings which indicate, based on info found on the internet and Flaydermans Guide, that it may be a 2nd Allin trapdoor conversion. 185751, made in 1882, .45-70, 32.5"" round barrel. As such, it is sometimes classified as just a variant of the Model 1861. The bore is shinny with some dark rust spots. Metal has light salt & pepper pitting but looks good, has walnut stock, a cartouche & a very good bore. Metal is bright grey patina with smooth pin-prick oxidation noted.
